Job Title: Medical Technologist

Duties: Administer standard and experimental treatments to patients with various ailments. Prepare patients for procedures using technologically advanced diagnostic and operational equipment.  Perform tests.  Use analysis results to develop or modify existing procedures prescribed to patients.  Utilize automated medical equipment and computerized instruments, such as EKG, Doppler, ultrasound, and TEE equipment to make technologic simulations for medical treatment planning.   Check and perform calculations for therapeutic purposes.  Review assessments of technology procedures.  Perform quality assurance tests requiring advanced knowledge of technology, chemistry, biostatistics..  Implement and supervise safety policies and procedures to ensure the safety of personnel, patients and family.  Analyze test results and relay them to physicians for establishing treatment programs.  Supervise subordinate personnel and ensure efficiency and accuracy of procedures.  Maintain accurate records and logs related to patient procedures, inventory and equipment.  Conduct research investigations seeking new technologies for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes.  Maintain professional knowledge by keeping abreast of the latest developments in the field of medical technology.

Requirements: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Medical Technology, Medical Science, or closely related field, plus three (3) years of medical technologist, cardiovascular technologist or related experience, performing Echocardiogram, Doppler, and TEE procedures; analyzing and reporting test results; and preparing patients for complex medical procedures.  Must have ARDMS registration (RDCS certification) and BLS certification or eligibility.
